What's this valve?

Guys, gals, i'm sorry to ask. I've done my best to search the site, chiltons, and the intertubes, and can't for the life of me figure out what this intake or valve is, or if it's missing a hose! I don't see a hose dangling anywhere....

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is on my '97 AT 5vz-fe. View is from the passenger side, facing the driver side.

IT IS YOUR CONNECTION TO YOUR FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR (FPR)! if you look down on your pic, you will see the round top of the FPR. I put up a post about the connection dry-rotting a couple of months ago.

Thank you! I'll dig a little harder for the hose, but i'm pretty sure it's simply gone. I wonder how the hell it's been running alright in the meantime...

This little hose is a SNEAKY BASTARD. You don't notice any performance changes (it is slight) until you discover the thin tubing has dry rotted off between the fuel pressure regulator and the intake.

As best as I can see it looks like there is a hose on the fuel pressure regulator in the pic, but heading the wrong direction...maybe it's just a stub of hose?

fuel pressure regulator?

Good call! I don't have that pipe on my rig so I couldn't figure it out.

OP, the fuel pressure regulator is the 8 o'clock position on the red circle you painted on the photo. It's a small circular device with a small hose barb that's attached to your fuel rail.

Found it! Whoever owned it before me must've pulled the manifold, dislodged the hose, and the reinstalled the upper and lower intake plenum on top of it.

The damn thing was sandwiched between them - completely invisible. I had to feel for it w/ my fingers.

Thanks all for the help!
