What's your choice in grade?

I'm kind of surprised, haha. Most people think synthetic is some kind of miracle worker. I think it's good for the engine, but not good enough to run as long as some run it. I'll spend the extra few bucks a year to make sure I'm running clean oil.

I use what-ever full synthetic oil is on sale...Been doing this for years.....I won't go past 5k miles.

If the truck is still under warranty...I wouldn't go past the manufacturers oil change interval.

What is your goal....See how long the oil can last in your vehicle...Or see how long you can keep your vehicle running well.

Thanks for all the replies, i think i narrowed my choice down to 5w-30 synthetic. I feel safe changing it every 5000, sometime i might go over to 6000, but never past that.

Has anyone tried the oil drain plugs with the magnet on them?
Im just curious to see how well they work and how much tiny metal particles on there after 5000 miles.

I guess I'm a little old school I use conventional 5-30 and toyota filter and change it every 3k miles.
