What's your favorite Tires? And your usage?

The 4Runner that I picked up last week have the stock Bridgestone Dueler H/T 684ii, 265/70R17.

I'd like to pick up something better, likely to be in 275/70R17. BFG All-Terrain A/T?

What's your favorite tires? What's your usage?

The lady is going to drive this a lot, about 80miles, on freeways daily. And we are in SoCal. But I do want to start doing some offroading/sand-dune'ing/wheeling.

Any recommendations?

- BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO (2015 TRD 4Runner Baja1000 Chase Team)
- Nitto Terra Grappler All-Terrain (TRD Pro - stock)
- Cooper Discoverer ATP (1engeer's choice)

I like the BFG All Terrain. We drive a lot so they see more pavement miles than dirt miles but they work good in just about everything. Aside from pavement, there are plenty of gravel/dirt roads that get muddy with rain or snow. They also seem to work great in the ice and snow.

I haven't tried the new BFG KO2s yet but probably will around April/May.

I have also had good luck with the Hankook ATm for the same uses.

The only other tire that has my interest is the Cooper ST Maxx.

I had the Cooper Discoverer ATR's and those were pretty good, but I didn't realize how loud they were until I switched to the BFG Rugged Terrains... These things are MUCH quieter and they have fantastic performance so far in the West Michigan snow. We'll see how long the tread lasts, but there is a 50,000 mile warranty on the BFG's too. Up to this point, I can see myself buying these again.

I have a set of BFG KO's on my 08 tundra. They are at 40k and have a little life left. I plan on putting BFG KO2's on it when they come out in my size in March. I ran Michelin LTX A/T 2's on my wife's 4th gen and they had 60k on them when we traded it and they still looked new.

I have General Grabber AT2's on my 03 Failblazer, they have been really great. On the sand at OBX and across muddy cow pastures where I hunt. Pretty quite on road as well. I'm trying to convince the wife that we need a set on our '15 TR4, so far she's not having it......

Had BFG AT TA KO's on my 4WD Taco, 13' FJ Trail Team came with the same, and now can hardly wait for the BFG AT TA KO2's to arrive in 265-70-17 C...and lose the Bridgestone junk!
Any offroading you will want to ditch the Bridgestones....

I loved my duratracs (stock size 17s) for the first summer and winter & second summer; but the second winter (now, with 20k on them) they have been less than optimal. Great in deep snow but horrible on packed snow or ice. Just no siping. I'm guessing they will be great for their third summer, but don't think I'd want them on for a third winter.

Stock size Duratracs so far and I'm loving them. They have worked great for the amount of snow and ice they have seen and are not too loud on pavement. Plus, they look awesome.

My tire experience isn't vast, but my goto has been BFG Rugged Terrain. Had these on my 05 runner and they were great in the Tahoe snow and trails and were just as great in the hot Texas trails and mud holes. All in all a great all around tire and pretty quiet from new to worn. I think I was able to get just under 50k before I got new ones. I will be getting another set on my 2014 when it's lifted in a few weeks.

I ran hanook dynapro rtm f10's on my tahoe...loved them! Talked a buddy into running them on his H3 and it's been 4yrs....he still has the same tires on now! I was going to run toyo at2 extremes on my jku but traded it in on my T4R that has upsized nitto terras on it. My first set of nitto truck tires.....so far i like them.

Toyo at 2 in p metric. 95% pavement otherwise dirt and muddy roads and getting to some fishing and camp sites in upstate NY. The snow and rain performance is very good. Haven't had to plow through snow above far above ground clearance height. Lost a half an mpg probably due to weight. Road noise is louder than the oem, but not terribly.

Personally no but I just bought new wheels and that's the tire I'm getting.

You could call me a Nitto fanboy. I'm okay with that. I've run 33, 35, and 37" Trail Grapplers on various Jeeps. I very run 275 Terrain Grapplers on a pick em up, and I have 265 Exo Grapplers on my SR5. Nittos have never let me down.
