What do you call and where can you get the small push out reinsertable things that are on the left side of the steering wheel? You can put switches and knobs and buttons and whatnot on them and stick them back in the dash. Previous owner really screwed the smaller size one up and I'm tired of looking at it. Thanks

Probably called 'switch plate inserts' or something. I popped one out, took it to the junkyard and said 'I need some of these'. They got me some black ones that I painted tan with spray paint. I think they were 50 cents each.

They are called "Cover, Spare Switch Hole"

The one above is black and goes next to the dash dimmer (55539 in diagram below).

The one below is the large square one that goes in the surround and is trim color(55524):
