wheel alignment

My 2007 Limited is the first 4 x 4 that I have owned. Do 4 wheel drive vehicles require less frequent wheel alignments than regular passenger cars? Because the 4Runner is an off-road vehicle as well, is the suspension system more tolerant and therefore less apt to get out of alignment than regular cars. I live in San Francisco and the streets and freeways around here are full of potholes that are hard to avoid hitting. I recently purchased a lifetime alignment package from Firestone because of the poor road conditions here in SF.

The alignment schedule is no different than any other vehicle. It has beefier suspension parts than a car but it is also weights more, has larger tires, and has a higher center of gravity. Take the same components on our truck, and then place them on a car and now the alignment will not go out as often.

Most people get an alignment with each new set of tires.
