Here's the deal

I have a 2007 4runner sport v8. I am looking at lifting it with 3" front 1.5" rear. Stock rims are pitted and peeling. Tires are 15 percent.

Wife gave me go ahead on rims and tires....want meaty look over stock without rub worries and rim wise a beefy blacked out...matte maybe..not blingy...more tough look.

Any thoughts or ideas?

You have to consider lift type, tire size, wheel size/offset. Read this link as part of your decision process:

Do some research on t4r,org
start with posts by ark_swamp_ryder

There is a stickey he wrote about suspensions that tells what size tire will work with what lift size and if anything needs to be done regarding rubbing.

I would post a link but I already know how to use the search feature and it does not seem like you do

I had the same thing going on my 2003, Here is what I did. I installed daystar 3/2 level kit, 265/65/r17 duratracks on xd cranks rims. The only mods I had to make were removing the front mud flaps and move the inner fender in a half inch. hope it helps.... IMG_20140610_115906.jpg

search.

Or let me break it down for you.

  1. go to Google.com
  2. enter site:4th Gen T4Rs - Toyota 4Runner Forum - Largest 4Runner Forum black wheels
  3. press search / enter
  4. click IMAGES at the top.
  5. ???
  6. Profit.

Then just click on the vehicles you like and read about them. Don't be afraid to ask for help, but seriously a little research can get you in the ballpark.

As mentioned above, you just have to search your way around the forum. I found it helpful to use the links they've provided above, find a look you like and see if you can get further details in their build threads.
I have a 3" Toytec on mine, larger tires and still had issue with rub. I think it's fairly common.
