wheel back spacing?

i need help on this one i have a 90 runner getting ready for bj spacers the runner currently has newer tacoma/runner 17 inch wheels on it i will be running 285/70-17 for tires there is no way the current setup will work with the spacers will rub on upper control arm, so i'm going to get new wheels but can't figure out what backspacing to go with

on my runner im running a 4.25 backspace but i had to get 1/2 inch spacers

3.75-3.50 SHOULD clear without rubbing on the control arms, but kind of hard to tell at this distance.

i know on a procomp 4 inch lift it says the max is 4in of backspacing, and if my memory is correct the factory taco wheels are close to that since they are only 7 inches wide, you could prolly get by with some spacers

Another option is to grind off the lip on the control arm, you can get about a quarter inch more room this way.
