Wheel Backspacing question

So I finally found a set of wheels that I am getting, picking them up tonight. $300, not $350.

Set of (4) 2006 Toyota Tacoma SR5 Wheels & Tires

Tires are crap, but I will replace them anyway.

To the point, I found that these wheels have 30mm offset, whereas the stock ones I have only have 15mm offset, so the inside edge of the rim will be 15mm closer to the inside of the wheel well.

Anyone know if this will be a problem for running 265/75-16 or 265/70-16?

I think I will put the AT/winter tires on my stock rims, and keep highway's on the new set because of the spacing difference. Just want to make sure this will work, and is the best option. I'm open to other options as long as they aren't expensive.

Are they 7" or 8" wide.

If there is a zero offset on a 7" wheel the BS would be 3.5". The BS on an 8" wheel would be 4". Add the extra 15mm of offset and you are inboard by an additional ~30mm.

My 265/75-16 Yokohama AT/S (which are big for their size) are close to the upper control arm and ball joint. I would say, if the wheel is a 7" and has an additional 15mm neg offset then my tires would rub. 8"? No way!

They are 7 in, and it is just a 15mm difference. The tires on them are 245's, maybe because they have more offset.

I got them, so I guess I am stuck with them either way

I think I will just have to take a wheel off and measure both for comparison, just to make sure

If I end up with rubbing, I guess I will just have to get some spacers for those wheels. Does anyone make a small spacer? All I ever see is 1" or bigger. I plan on doing a lift in the spring (probably OME without spacers), but I will probably stick with 265's to save money.

BTW, the 4runner rides alot smoother with the weight of the wheels in the back :thumb3:

Toss a tape measure on the new wheels. Stock wheels are ~4.5" BS (some say 4.65" BS)

They are pretty cool looking wheels.
They do make drop in 1/4" spacers. Most are bolt on 1.25".
I'm running SpiderTrax 1.25" spacers. I'm happy with them. They bring my tires out to the edge of my flares.

Back spacing was about 5.25 on the new ones. Crap, I think I will need spacers.

Anyone know where I can get a set for cheap?

How sketch are ebay spacers? It seems pretty much everyone uses 6061-T6 with grade 8 lugs. They are alot cheaper on ebay, but I havn't really heard of the manufacturers (DBA motorsports and Rigged Up off road).

Our 4runners are hub centric. I know that some people are using non-hub centric spacers but I would, did, spend the money and buy hub centric. All Pro has some that are less expensive. SpiderTrax Toyota Hub Centric Wheel Spacer Kit are very nice.

Why do I feel that staying hub centric is good? The wheel and the spacer are centered and supported by the hub, and the flange on the spacer.
