I purchased a front wheel bearing and hub assembly from Rock Auto a few months ago and noticed a few days ago that it appears to be leaking grease from the backside. The bearing/hub assembly is a sealed unit and has no grease fittings.
I know sometimes a bearing may leak grease from the manufacturer after being installed (due to over-packing) and that is normal. I however would think that only applies to bearings that have grease fittings? So is this normal or not?
The first image is of the new but leaking ball bearing/hub assembly.
The second image is of the original ball bearing/hub assembly, which is perfectly dry.
