Glad you got it off! I replaced the whole unit so I didn't have to replace that. Though I think thats the rear bearing seal and needs to be pressed off, maybe?

you have to get it pressed off and the new one pressed in, about 30 bucks at a machine shop if you don't know anyone with a press.

Also, IDK if I would use that hub again. it looks destroyed. how were the seals? The flange looks ok from what I could see though, but I'd replace that whole hub.

If you get it pressed out be careful. There is a special tool that should be used so that the flange does not get bent in the process. I know because a shop here in town pressed my wheel bearing out and it bent the flange. I only made it about a few thousand miles before that bearing failed due to the bent flange.

you would need a bearing separator and a press. I would not re-use that hub flange, the sealing surface doesn't look all that good. Chances are it will damage the seal prematurely destroying the new bearing.

Thanks again for all the help guys, I will be getting a new flange tomorrow.
Anyway heres the whole ordeal that I went through this weekend.
Saturday I went to Texas Offroad Ranch with a couple people from tacoma world, and ended up camping out with my dad and a couple of his friends.
So I was having a bit of fun on the race course there until I started hearing a grinding sound from the axle. The next day we attempted to drive it into town to get it checked out.
On the freeway the bearing shredded out and caused the wheel to go out of alignment and make the caliper scrape all over the rotor. Thus causing the brakes to fail.

So relying on engine braking and coasting i was able to stop and call a tow truck, there was brake fluid spewing from the calipers causing smoke to plume from my right wheel.
So we called a tow truck and got it towed to the nearest parts store, which is what we should of done in the first place instead of driving it.
Then we got everything disassembled and assessed the situation, we definitely needed a new wheel bearing a and definitely needed a new caliper.
Then we ran into the problem in which caused me to post this thread, that bearing is a B****!!!!
By then it was 7 PM on a sunday so every shop with a press was closed by then.

Earlier that day a local Tacomaworld member (Weazle on the forums) stopped by after he saw us working on it and asked if we needed any help. We figured we could get it all on that night and be out of Huntsville so we didn't think we would need any but boy did he end up being a lifesaver. I ended up messaging him asking if he could take me and my dad to the closest motel for the night, and then pick us up in the morning. We really owe him alot and he saved us a long walk to and from the motel and the 4runner.

Then this morning we got the bearing pressed in, got everything assembled, new calipers on and bled the brakes, and bam! drove better than before.
I'm just thankful that we were okay because no brakes at 60+ is a scary thing.
Let this be a lesson to myself and anyone to replace their wheel bearings as soon as you hear them grinding. Atleast I'm learning with all these parts breaking lately so I'll know what to do in the same situation in the future.

I had no breaks at 70 once. My rear break caliper pins were dry (you need to grease them) and the last person to do the breaks didn't. So one pad had constant contact and it wore down to bear metal to metal with the rotor. Then heard this loud thud, what was left of the pad somehow got out of the caliper and holding bracket and was now somewhere on I-75 N. Great. Couldn't use the breaks because then I was stopping on the caliper piston, and that isn't pretty. Finally got it stopped using engine breaking, called a tow truck and had it towed to a shop I used to work at that only do work on Toyota/Lexus/Scion. Got it all fixed up and OTD price was $160.50 including towing. They only charge me for parts though. I love having connections. :)
