Wheel Offset

I am buying new wheels and I want to get offset steelies that will
Have the same effect at 2 or 3 inch wheel spacers. How much offset will that require? Sorry I bring up offset AGAIN. I searched other forums but couldn't find the information I needed.

Ive read that post but the math doesn't seem to workout for me. He is saying that a -32 offset gives the same appearance as a 1.25" spacers. That would mean if I wanted to have wheels with the appearance of 2" of space then I would need wheels with -78 offset? I suck at math obviously but I know Im not understanding something properly

Without pulling out my calculator, you would need a big negative offset to pull your wheel that far away from your hub. The larger the negative offset the further away from the vehicle the wheel will sit. For mine to sit even ( a bit outside but not much) with my flares and without adding any wheel spacers I went with a -10 offset. I'm sure you would be looking at a -20 or so. Again, this is without pulling out my calculator. You can always swing by Les Schwab and talk to one of the sales folks about backspacing and offset.

here. 25.4mm = 1 inch. 1.25*25.4=31.75. 2*25.4=50.8 3*25.4=76.2

if they only give you backspacing, you devide the rim width by 2 so say its the stock rim with 4.625" back spacing and its 7" wide. you would need to have a backspacing of 2.625" or 1.625". to calculate offset from backspacing, roughly, devide the width of the rim by two then subrtact that number from the backspacing and devide by 25.4. so for the stock rim that gives us +41mm offset.

if its a bit over your head, tell us what rim width you wanted and the spacing you want from stock. I think it may be easier to get a wider wheel with more negative offset.

I thought I had read in the past that our stock wheels were +15mm offset. +41mm doesn't sound right. That's like numbers for a Honda Civic.

OEM Backspacing is 4.625" for a 7" wide wheel. So subtract 2-3 inches from that. For 8" width, subtract 1-2 inches.

Your best bets are an 8" wheel with ~3.5" backspacing, a 9" wheel with 3.5~4.5" backspacing, or a 10" with ~4.5" backspacing.
