Wheel Size / Rotors

My SR5 came with 15" Wheels (According to the sticker in the doorjamb) but as far as I know, my 16" wheels were added at the dealer?

Anyways... Im starting to wonder if the rotors were sized properly for the larger wheels? It shakes when I brake, so I want to upgrade anyways... does anyone know if the Brembo's (for 16") are larger than factory OEM? I dont want to bother with the Tundra upgrade.

Again, sorry if this is a re-post. I read some details about Tundra upgrades and Brembo upgrades, but was concerned about my rotors since the "wrong" wheels are on the truck.

If it had 15's they had smaller brake calipers also. Thats why the 15" rim dont fit over the 16" wheel that had larger calipers. This being said both the 15" rims and 16" rims had issues with shaking, and warping rotors due to them being undersized. So to get the braking you want you would need the other calipers, pads and rotors. But going that far you might as well buy tundra parts since they are about the same price. At least this is my experience when I was comparing 15" to 16" 4runner models.

Thanks. The 199mm goes without fabrication, right? 1st gen Tundra for 3rd gen 4R?

231mm dont need really any modification either. Cant see your rims but most 2000+ 4runners rims clear the 231 caliper. You would need to post pictures to verify your rims. The heat shield on the brake needs cut very little for either caliper and is done very easy with tin snips or dremel. I recommend going 231mm, its well worth the upgrade. Toyota went to the 231mm because the 199 was small and caused vibration and warped rotors.

Toyota 16's... what year Tundra parts am I searching for?
