wheel studs/front

I am wanting to replace my front wheel studs.One is broken and the otherside has one with bad thread.I have stock steel wheels.Would stock studs be the same length,even if I switched to newer 4runner alum wheels?Is it best to buy the studs from dealer,or does an offroad place have them stronger and better?
