Wheel well splash guards removed .

Any ideas as to why these wheel well splash guards that attach to the body and protect the engine bay were removed/ ripped off by the previous owner on my truck? Do these commonly break down to the point of failing and maybe he just ripped them off? Thanks .

They get old and fall off basically! I need to get some as well, one day just gone!

If they ran larger tires and/or wheel'd hard they could have rubbed against them and tore them off. I wanted to try and keep mine on my truck after I fit my 285's but I trimmed them so much that they were literally about two inches wide just to keep from rubbing on the 285's on turns and light compression.

I cut a set from an old black Rubbermaid trash can. Couple rivets and all was good. Cheaper than oem replacements.

Thats actually a really good idea. Maybe if mine keep wearing and becoming more discolored I'll do this.
