I’m looking at getting a set of grey or black wheels. All the aftermarket wheels I like are either 8” or 8.5” wide and are $900 a set or more. My other option is the trd pro wheel, which I can get for $700 or less. Is the 1” more width noticeable (looks or functional wise) if I’m staying with 265/70 tires.

The narrower wheel is better for 265/70/17 tire size. Visually - it will depend on the offset of the aftermarket wheels. You only see the outer face, so it's hard to compare without knowing that. If you want more negative offset (wheel out further), you'll need some sort of wheel spacer to go along with the wheels. Factor that into the price.
I'd go with the TRD Pro wheels. What isn't obvious is that aftermarket wheels are generally lower quality in fit and finish than OEM wheels. OEM manufacturers have vastly more resources to design and manufacture wheels and they also are buying better raw materials and using better alloys than aftermarket manufacturers. That's especially true for the finish. In 5 years most aftermarket wheels look worn. I would not expect a TRD Pro replica style wheel from an aftermarket company to look the same as OEM after a few years. OEM wheels tend to wear very well over long periods of time. So it depends in part on how long you want to keep it. - I'm sure someone will defend their favorite brand of aftermarket chineseum wheels. And some are well made. I don't see it as a major safety issue. I have some aftermarket wheels on some of my junk. There's a lot of reasons to like aftermarket wheels. So I'm not saying not to buy them, just make sure you understand what you're buying and that it's not really apple and apples compared to OEM wheels. - main point being if you want 17" wheels that look like TRD Pro wheels for 265/70/17 tires, buy the OEM ones.

Without knowing the offset of the rims, we can't answer your question one way or another. The TRD Pro rims are fairly inset and they don't have a very aggressive stance (they don't run flush with your flares).
I personally bought replica TRD Pro rims for the winter for 2 reasons:
1) They were cheap. I don't care about finish as I want to change the color anyway so I'll use any excuse to powdercoat the rims in the future. I've done 1.5 winters on the replica rims and the finish is still good as new minus normal wear and tear.
2) the replica TRD Pro rims have a much more aggressive stance vs the OEM trd pro rim. I think they stick out 1.1" more iirc. That made a world of difference to me. I don't rock crawl or go offroad at all so I don't ask much of the rims other than "please don't fall apart or suffer from harware failure"

I have the standard trail/Offroad 7.5 wheels now. The two wheels I was looking at was the fx pro 8” 0 offset and the icon vector 6 8.5 with 0 offset. Both pushing $1000 with shipping and lugnuts. From the wheel calculator I used, the Toyota trd pro wheels will stick out .25” further each side than my current wheels. I like the idea of using factory lugnuts and being able to get a replacement wheel at any dealership. If they were 7.5” wide I wouldn’t look at anything else.

The 1" difference makes the world of difference imo. You can't go wrong with either rim -the fx pro or icons. Boils down to personal preference.
You won't be able to get the fx pro if you order from FN Wheels since they're still in a bit of flux I think. So, you'd be waiting months from what I hear. You can call them to find out or if you find a vendor with them in stock / private sale, all the more power to you. I got their six shooters from an FN Wheels vendor and they fit great. WAY better than the stock wheels re: looks.
