Wheelin'! Overlanding! All of it! LOL

Had an awesome weekend & the truck was amazing. I scraped the DS, frame, pumpkin. Hardest wheelin' I've ever done & I was rusty as hell & stalled out a lot. I even made this crazy hill climb, 4lo, 1st gear & I just punched it! If there weren't 30 people watching I would have bailed. LOL But she made it look easy. :rofl:

LOL This weekend is exactly why I dont have one. Set up base camp & go out wheelin'. I would have gotten it hung up on trees. There were narrow hair pin turns through the wood's with big rocks & tilted trees. No way. I can see how they would be good for certain situations, but not in a forest.

I had to say it. Those trails look like fun.

I took mine off for wheeling up in Naches WA and for the trip to Dusy/Ershim. Building a trailer to put it on for cyclocross season and for wheeling trips where I am setting up a base camp and need to haul a bunch of crap.

One guy with an 80 had a RTT on a trailer, perfect for our situation.

I'm in Greenwood Lake, Orange County. The only legal trails near by are in Stokes State Forest, NJ. Nothing challenging but it's a nice drive on a weekend afternoon. From Brooklyn you can go down to the Pine Barron's in South Jersey. I've haven't been there yet. It looks all the good wheelin' in the Northeast is on private land run by Jeep Clubs. Unless you go to Raush Creek in PA, that place is great. It's hard to find anything using Google, it's very secretive. Join "New England Overland" on FB. https://www.facebook.com/groups/621760444666471/ It's mostly Jeeps & Yota's & they have the good spots in Central Mass. The trails they consider easy recomend 35's & 1 locker. I got through everything with 33's open/open but I'd lying if I didnt admit to more than a few puckering situations! LOL

I kept up with guys on 35's & 37's but I didnt follow anyone with 40's & 42's, LOL or these Yota's down Black trails. The rocks were just too big.

Cool, thanks for the info. Looks like you're not too far from NYC. Never heard of Stokes State Forest but that would be an good day trip for me. If you're gonna head out there again or the Pine Barrens and need a buddy then hit me up!

I'll let you know. It'll be a while before I go back out. My DS axle started leaking all over my new drums. :Cry: I need to fix my e-locker actuator & get my sliders welded on. And before that I have the honey to do list. I haven't done anything to my house since the Spring. LOL
