There's been some interest in the Bay Area/Sacramento Meet Up forum for getting together another wheel'n opportunity ... so I'm throwing it out there... who's up for wheel'n on Sat. March 3rd 2018?

No details as of yet on where to go or when to meet... hoping to crowd-source some thoughts on that... Maybe a trip to Fordyce Lake along FR85 (aka Fordyce Lake Rd) (snow depth pending)? Maybe Slate Mountain Lookout? Maybe Knoxville OHV Rec Area? Maybe something else all together? Thoughts? Suggestions? Post 'em up!

I might camp depending on where we go if anyone wanted to join.

I just did Knoxville, rather not go back.

Still haven't had a chance to do slick rock or bald mountain/shaver lake yet. Always wanted to go.

5 winch hills and no bypasses and 400+ cfm flow on the river, absolutely.

I had to cross the river one night, 10 pm or later and water was 4 ft deep and going over the top of my flat bed. Worst part, had to cross again about an hour later. That was with an 81 hilux on 35's.

I was only interested in the pre warm up part (Eagles Lake to turn off) I have to drive mine everyday.

I can probably swing a Saturday. Count me in. https://www.trails.com/tcatalog_trail.aspx?trailid=xft003-007 This is my neck of the woods. Snow makes it more interesting and busy especially on a Saturday. Also it’s BFE ie 3ish hours from the Bay Area. But I’m down for anywhere.

Newb finally found my way to this thread..subbed as well depending on location. Closer to south or east bay more likely to make. Is there a location set yet? Im also stock, but still interested in checking out other rigs and doing some light stuff. If still open to locations, anything close to a lake and fishing is a bonus for me!

Info on rayhouse road: it's AKA "road 40". I tried finding its entrance off of highway 16 at night once as a short cut to Knoxville area. Had a hell of a time. And it was gated closed.
After that I did some more research and turns out there is some bridge that is no longer maintained so from what I've read it's closed to vehicles (thanks California). However, that road (if connected) does turn into Reiff Road and that half is accessible from what I've read.

Pretty much what I'm saying, that idea is a gamble. Either try finding it via highway 16 during the day, or go AAAALLLLLLLL the way around by Berryessa to get to Reiff road. If I had more free time I'd go out and investigate since I'm the closest to the Berryessa access. It's on my to-do list but day time free time is limited. Hopefully not for much longer.

I just got back from a trip to the high lakes area above Paradise, east of Chico. It might be a bit of a drive for some but there are lots of excellent places to wheel. If there is snow, thats an added bonus. There are a couple ways to get there. East on hwy 32 out of Chico or up Skyway out of Paradise. The Bambi Inn is a cool bar/restaurant that makes for a good meeting place coming up from Chico. Cabins are available to rent as well. Here is their address

Knoxville is pretty weak honestly
I noticed cow mountain and Hollister aren’t on the list but hey are fun places to visit.

Just did South Cow about a month ago. Second what MarkamisPrime said about the dirt bike trails though. Even with a map I found myself on some real tight trails and got a lot of glory scratches haha navigation aside, once you find where your're going there are a ton of obstacles and fun mud pits. Should be on the list of considerations

Yeah Hollister and South Cow would be nice... just dont think I can pull together the 4 to 6 hrs it would take me to get to/from there. For me, those will have to wait till I can do an overnighter/weekender
