Seriously considering switching back to Knoxville. I know it's not the same .... but given weather forcast and potential for bad things....thinking it might be for the best.
Thoughts everyone?

I don't mind either option, but leaning towards high lakes...
But FWIW...
Knoxville is also getting rained on hard, so we'll need to deal with mud and possible deep water crossings(I think there are a few there)... With that mud and being on top of a ridge, dunno how comfortable I'd be with that... On top of that, is the possibility of Knoxville being a complete bust...
Highlakes may be getting a good 3'~5' of snow since it appears that the trail it self hovers somewhere around 4000'~5000'. Which means that we probably can't see the trail at all, and snow walls as high as our trucks.. On the flip side... We know that spot looks amazing.. Isn't one of the guys who's coming from that area? If so, maybe he has some knowledge on how bad the forecast is...

After looking at the nearest cities near the trail....
The east side of the trails nearest cities are Tobin, Belden, Rodgers flats, are expected to have 8" through Saturday.
West side of the trail, Glenburn, Inskip, are expected to have 17" of snow through Saturday.
Source from accuweather...
And looking at topo maps, Inskip and Glenburn sit at around 4800 and 5000ft respectively.. Tobin, Belden, Rodgers flats sit under 3000ft..
So... Honestly, I think High Lakes is doable.. but don't hold me to it.

Knoxville is going to be a complete mud bath! Which might be good or bad. The mud is all red clay Over there. The water crossing (4 or 5) aren't bad at all...(maybe a 1" max or 1/2" high) and it's over concrete bridge. The main killer is the water is moving FAST. https://youtu.be/EFKC8fGMlx0
You have about 14miles to go on a paved Knoxville road until you reach the entrance to "devil head road". You can follow the road or take some trails of it which can get narly, butt nothing our rigs can't handle. Once you reach the fork where it splits to "concrete creek" go RIGHT, left is all gated off private property a mile or two. If you go right, Good 20 miles of trails at least that way (just fire roads not including ways off the road). That river crossing looks killer... Although... I wonder how deep it'll be with all this rain.. And yea, the flow of the water doesn't seem all that ideal...

Lol, I can almost guarantee we'll need a shovel. Last weekend some of us from TW went up to Bowman lake and we found a few opportunities to use our shovels.
