Wheels and tires problem, any solution

Hey guys after alot of searching and reading on here, i have a big problem right now I would really apreciate some help as i know many of you know alot more then i do.

went to the 4wheel parts expo maybe 2 months back and told one of the guys there that i was getting a toytech ultimate lift kit and was looking for some tires to put on it afterwords, he seemed like he knew alot about 4runners talking to me and told him that i wanted wide tires i ended up settling for Nitto mud grapplers 33x13.5x15 and the MT sidebiter 15x10 rims because he told me that all this would fit with a 3 inch lift and maybe a body lift and some spacers, thats the problem i recently looked at my rims and after reading about it on here randomly scrolling i feel like i just f*cked up big! the tires and rims are here at my local 4wheel parts store n have an appointment to install them saturday and im pissed that i didnt do my research before all this, guess thats what happens when your a teenager excited to make his runner look sick! I know that the rims wont fit over the brakes but is there anything that i can do to run this setup. or do i need to figure out how to sell this?? thanks soo much in advance!

As 4x4runner2002 said, if the salesman said they would fit you could let them try to put them on and if they don't work tell them you want a refund since you were told they would fit.

alright guys thanks really do appreciate it, these guys piss the shit out of me and make me think that their just money hungry..... called in today and they said that i would have to pay a return shipping fee if anything and i told them that they are the ones that lead me down this path and your guy said it would fit, of course they just give me wise ass attitude, told them i would settle all this saturday!

i was recently reading that people have trimmed the calipar to make it fit, how hard would that be of a task and would it be really dangerous to do? i seen it done before on some thread a while back on a 3rd gen to fit 15s. thanks again
 
yep i would fight this one as best you can. don't let them walk all over you like that. first i would try to take my money far from that place, settle for credit if they won't let you do that. every time i've gone in there i get that same wise guy attitude you speak of.
let the jeep guys take that crap, not you.

IMO, get 16's at least. if you want to mod your truck even more later you'll probably want tundra breaks. even at 16's you'll need to make sure your backspacing is right.

hahaha exactly what i would say let others take that.... yeaah the whole point was they were the ones that told me it would fit in person after i told them everything pretty much about my lift and 4runner. Didnt know much about tires and I let them pretty much help me decide and now i find out it wont fit..I would settle for store credit but thats about it... Honestly learned alot over the past couple months reading on this site and now kind of know what tires too go with thanks to the numerous members on this site.
 
just went to check the inside door jam of the 4runner and the label says r15 haha its a 2002 4x4, i wonder how could that be, i heard that they upgraded?? im assuming the previous owner didnt do the brakes because they look and feel like there about to go also so i still think the brakes are the smaller version.

Check the splash shield on the inside of the rotor. If it isn't there or is cut, then that most likely means the previous owner upgraded the brakes. If you can get a picture of the caliper I can help.
 
I was looking into going 15" on my 01 runner. My door sticker said that they fitted my rig with 15". So I called the dealership with my VIN number and he looked it up and found that when my runner was purchased they paid for the 16" package and it included the brakes too. Just an idea, you might check a dealership and ask them to look up your VIN. The previous owner of your rig may have just bought 16" wheels and never did the brake swap. My .10 worth i

exactly what i was feeling right after i bfrought it and started reading on this site, hahahaha. yeahhh they do 30 days after sale, but i didnt even sign at the bottom of the reciept where it says too because i think its thirty days after they install it then you sign, cause like others said i didnt even see the product or open it out of the package or put it on yet, i better not have to deal with bullsh** to get a product that will fit they should be trying to help me get the right tires on not leave me to hack away my truck and make more problems and more buisness for them to make the tires fit. idk definately do feel misinformed though!

Hey thanks braddah dustin thats pretty interesting to hear and find out, ill be doing that today to find out if anyone updated these breaks yet!
