Wheels & Tire: Newbie Edition

Hello all, my name is Jeff. I’m new to the site, but not to the 4Runner. My parents just sold me the old SR5 for $5, so I’m looking to knock out this honey-do list.

QUESTION: I currently have 15”s on the truck P235/75R15. What’s are my options in getting bigger tires, while keeping the stock wheels and NOT lifting the truck?

265/75/16 seems to be a popular size without a lift; plug that into www.tiresize.com to find your equivalent 15" tire size.

Also, be sure to search a lot. TONS of people have asked this question before, there's pics of every possible tire/wheel/lift combo out there!

Also: go ahead and make this page a bookmark in your browser and go crazy.

265s are about 31" tall

so if you're looking at 15" wheels, then you'd get a 31x10.5x15 tires

is the 4runner 2wd? They sit a bit lower than the 4wd. What year is it? Post a few pics of it.

im on 265/65/r17
what i believe is stock height. people that owned it before me said the leveled it... but im due for new suspension. anyhow i was thinking of going 285/70/r17
anybody try that before? will it fit??

I believe you may be the first to attempt to put 285's on.
