I like 'em...and at that price I could have had a new set of wheels for less than what I spent on my craigslist rims after I had to buy spacers! Unless they charge an arm and a leg for shipping...then its about the same. :dancin:
 
they run about 30 bux shipping each to my part of the world. i wanted black originally but it aint happenin. the wheels are going on a desert dune runner, which i think will look sweet. what im wondering is if they will "stick out" further than the current rims if that makes sense. i dont know the right term, backspacing maybe?
 
Those look good on the 4Runner. If they take the TRD lugnuts that is a huge savings there. I bought my TRD Ivan Stewarts and he only had the lugnuts for three of the wheels and had to by one more set of 6 and it was $30. Some of the other sites I have seen sell everything seperately, so would have to buy each wheel, hub/ center cap and lug nuts individually. My 2c is buy all 5 if you can afford it and then do a 5 tire rotation.
 
I never thought about the 5th one...i suppose it would be worth it especailly if i were to list the original 5 wheels on ebay or to someone in this forum they may want the entire set. so 2 yes votes...keep the opinions rolling in...then it will be time to figure out which rubber to set on them
 
Not sure where you live but if you look at my post "New tires one step closer" you see a place in So Cal and might be able to get your local shop to match price on Nitto Terra Graplers. I have always been a big fan of the BFG AT's and now the KM2's, however there are so many people on here running the NTG's and with that deal I couldnt pass them up. I have already put 400 miles on them and like them so far.
 
i need a tire that handles really well in wet conditions like rain and snow, and one that is good around town and on the hwy. my use is 95% on road so ride/noise is a big factor.

I think you should look into the Nitto Terra Grapplers. I haven't owned them but read a lot of info on them. Was planning to get them but then decided to trade onroad manners for offroad prowess and go with a mud terrain.

Also, to answer the question you posed earlier, these wheels actually have more backspacing than the stock 3rd gen 4Runner wheels meaning they will actually be a little more tucked in than stock. If you don't have a Limited it shouldn't look too bad at all, but if you do have a Limited or the larger painted SE flares, then you might wanna look into spacers. Wait til you get them on and judge for yourself.
 
good to know. i own an SR5 with the large painted flares. can you direct me a bit on spacers...brands, amount of spacing, etc? im wondering though, by moving up to a 265/75 form a 265/70, will that offset the difference?

I just got done with that whole thing, 2000runr. I got Taco TRD rims and it left my truck looking like a train car. I got Spidertrax(www.spidertrax.com) 1.25" spacers for $99 a pair and it cured the problem. Nice wide stance now with Wrangler 265/70's.
 
mind posting a pic or sending me a link to previously posted pics of the look? i actually hung up with my toyota dealership and they said the exact same thing, spidertrax 1.25". curiously, why did you go 265/70 versus 265/75?
 
I'll post some before and afters with the spacers when i get off work if no one else has by then. I also went with Spidertrax 1.25". One tip.. look on ebay. They retail at $99/pair but I bought a set of 4 brand new off of ebay from Spidertrax directly for about $140 because they were "blemished". Strictly cosmetic. If you don't have the cash to put up for the Spidertrax at least try and find some spacers that are Hub centric and not Lug centric. This can lead to a spacer not being centered and a vibration.

The tires won't make a difference because the 265/70 and 265/75 are exactly the same width (265mm). The second number represents the sidewall height in percentage of width. Basically the sidewall height on a 265/70 tire is 70% of 265mm whereas on a 265/75 it would be 75% of 265mm. Hope some of that helps.
 
local toyota dealer is able to get me the wheels with free shipping, that just saved 120 bux. anyone have an opinion on the gunmetal gray or polished alum??????
 
gun metal if you can, but i think you need the vin number from a 2007 trd special edition fj cruizer. we attempted to get a set of the black ones for my dads fj but they said you cant buy them unless you already had a special edition
 
Actually they can get gunmetal or painted alum. The painted are not shiny, and with the dune actually appear more attractive. Spacers ordered also, thanks for all the help.
 
Can't wait to see it....I'm lovin' the spacers so far. Although I do get a little vibration at 70mph that I never noticed before. Could just be a bad balancing job though...
