When will the Bilstein 6112 be released?

Anyone have insight on a release date? Looks similiar to TRD PRO kit but with height adjustable coilovers, and i assume lifted springs in rear.

Of course, that's what Bilstein has been saying since last year. Maybe for 2015 they will actually release them for the 4runner crowd.

It will be interesting to see at the price point the 6112 aka BTS bilsteins are at... whether they will be better than say ICON or Fox.

I actually placed a call to Bilstein out in Cali yesterday to inquire about this.
The 6112 Coilover Kit should be available in Jan 2015 with a MSRP of 799.99

They said they will not make a BTS kit (threaded shock body that uses a spanner nut for fine adjustment) for this application. <- (different info than what was received only a couple of months ago from them)

So, $660 shipped. Then I'd need new top hats from Toyota, because I'm not going to have stock springs and shocks hanging around without, which brings us to $1K even. A little rich ..

Think I'll be getting the TRD Pro suspension. Engineered for the 4Runner, with different coils left and right.

They're barely a 2.5" shock body, with no extension of available travel, they're rare and they're $700 a pair.

You can get 5100s with nearly the same performance capability for $350ish or spend another $300 and get full coilovers WITH springs (worth about $300) that are extended travel, and are fully rebuildable. And for another $200 ontop of that you can get those same coilovers with enormous reservoirs if you were so inclined to need that.

It's a sales ploy, plain and simple. Bilstein is trying to get into the coilover market share for stock replacement by being marginally cheaper than a high performance setup without the performance gain.

Have you driven on these? They are a big improvement over the 5100. The piston is 60mm on the inside, or 2.36, the outer diameter is over 2.6. I have some here if youd like me to measure. These are sold in a kit, and come with springs. They are rebuildable.

These are a great option for the guy who wants more than a 5100 but doesnt need all the frills of a full performance coilover.
