Where are the high end 5th gen installs?

Ok guys... Seriously someone on here has to have put in a fancy audio system in their 5th gen. Post me up... I have all my components and need to see the front stages before the fiberglass work begins.

What are your components for the front stage? 3-way? What amp are you using?

I don't have a stereo in my 4runner but do a search here for subs in the floor. It's a install I did on my Tundra.

Well, im running the morel elate 9s in the doors, cdm-88s in the a-pillars, and morel supremos in the a-pillars, and an idmax 10. Amps are going to be an audison lrx 5.1k, an lrx 2.9. Processor is a bitone.1. I havent picked out the headunit yet, but im leaning toward the alpine ina-w910bt so i can use the digital out to drive the bitone. Im really curious how people are setting up their front stages in these cars, with the cdm 88s being dome mids I am going to be playing around quite a bit with aiming, same thing with the supremos, I know they are really good on axis.

Sweet!! A buddy of mine used to compete with MECA in the modified class. He competed in SQ and install and would usually take 1st or 2nd overall at the end of the season. Nothing against the audison products but the zapco guys would walk all over them. I'm really interested to see your install. If you need any parts, my buddy is a Zapco dealer based out of Washington State. I don't know what other lines he carries but he does a LOT of high end installs and has done a handful of high end SQ installes on his own vehicles to compete in MECA.

Nah man, I know zapco makes some nice stuff for sure, but I'm just really into the sound of audison and morel. Nice, warm, and mellow. If I was going seriously after sq comp it would be zapco and focal be, but I find that stuff to be fatiguing to me after a while. I actually have a nice sq system in my tundra as well, but I'm going to be revamping that system after this one. Already have audison processor and amps, along with a hertz 3way setup, but swapping out for new audisons and morel elate9 again, this time probably with the mt-23s. This hobby has gotten expensive! I don't see how all these folks afford to constantly be swapping gear.

I have come to the conclusion that any hobby is expensive when you take it to a high end level. For sure audison makes some really nice products! You'll love those morel's too! My buddy had a dodge magnum with a morel front stage and the IDQ12 subs in the rear. That thing was amazing! I ended up putting two of the IDQ12's in my truck before they stopped making them. I'm not that much of an audiophile to tell the difference between the old IDQ's and the new IDQ Max's but put an IDQ/IDQ Max in a sealed enclosure and you'll love the responsiveness you'll get from it!

As far as a head unit, have you considered the Panasonic bottle tube head units? They were only made in Japan but you can find them once in a while on ebay for around 7-8 hundred bucks. It has a vacuum tube in it and that's where my knowledge on that subject ends. I have heard those head units and they are super crisp! It's amazing when the sound quality is so clear that you can hear the artist breathing while performing!

Well, I'm going to double din it up.... My wife primarily drives the 4runner and she wants pandora and iPhone integration. I currently run a x920bt pioneer in my tundra. It has been sent back to pioneer three times, and is now fing up again. No more pioneer products for me....ever.
