Where are the lube points on my 3rd gen. and what grease?

I change my fluids and want to make sure I am lubing all of the zerks on the chassis and drive shaft. I have searched around this site and have not found any to show me where the grease points are. Can anyone post or find a diagram to show my where I need to lubricate? What grease would you recommend? Thanks in advance.

I would invest in a Haynes or Chilton manual in addition to using this site. It will save you time on stuff like this and its a lot easier to reference while your under your rig. That being said, there's multiple zerks on the drive shafts (and other points too IIRC) and two different greases are specified. One is a Lithium grease and the other is a moly grease. Can't remember which goes where though...

On these trucks it's just the zerks on the driveshaft that you need to worry about, unless you have things like aftermarket swaybar endlinks or lower ball joints that also have zerks.

anyone know why the 2wd would not have grease fittings? obviously from a design point of view, a 4wd would be more likely to encounter mud/water ... but then again, being able to grease a u-joint would seem like a good feature whether 2wd or 4wd ???

How did you do it yourself, did you use both greese types or just all of one? As you stated I would imagine your pretty safe using either one for all zerks.

In the past, I have used both greases, but not that one of my grease guns broke, and I ran out of grease, I am just going to pick up some moly grease and use it everywhere.

For grease, I use Mystik No. 2 Hi-Temp. Best around.

It is too bad the newer 4Runners don't have the greasing diagram like my 1st generation 4Runners did. If memory serves me right it was on the passenger side sun visor. Very convenient
