Where are we at on fixing sunroof issues?

It's been about 3 years now since I've used my sunroof in my 03 4runner and I'm wanting to get it fixed. Basically, it broke the same way almost all of them do. I went to open it, one side stopped moving and the glass got cocked. I had to hold the button down to close it, tons of clicking but it eventually moved to where it was shut.

The sunroof as it sits now is water tight, but not closed all the way as there is some wind noise. Has anyone successfully repaired their sunroof and if so how, and how is it holding up?

I just wish mine didn't rattle so freakin much!

Mine was replaced once and it still rattle! Wish i didn't have one too. I fixed it with some Styrofoam. Cut to whatever size. Tilt the sunroof up and stick the foam in while you close the sunroof. Fixed...lol

I had mine sealed by a body shop. They used windshield adhesive to seal it. That stopped the wind noise. We then cut black closed cell foam and wedged it in between the wind deflector and the roof and the stopped the rattle. Could not justify the 2k for a new sunroof.

I opened mine when i bought my 4runner new in 08,then i closed it and as of today i have never opened it again.

If I could have bought it with out the sunroof i would have, but it seem most now come with them.

There has been many articles covering them, and most end up costing a lot of money to get even the small water leaks fixed.
