Where can I purchase a new door trim panel? UPDATED W/ PHOTO

My wife came home one day and this trim panel was hanging by a thread. It pretty much broke off and all the plastic rivets are smashed. The panel itself is pretty beat up too. Looks like someone hit her in a parking lot.

Where can I buy this panel, already painted?

From a Toyota dealer, here's a link, your's appears to be dark blue, but if not look at the second link and select the correct color lower right cladding from the list, you will need to also purchase all the clips separately.

I may try to go to a junk yard first. I thought i'd be able to find it online for $100 or something.

It's actually $369 from that dealer but you would still have to pay shipping which is about the best price you will find, but it's still a sticker shock when buying OEM new parts, most dealers sell it for over $400 and up to $500+, but I agree one from a savage yard is your best bet, you will still need to buy the blue and orange clips new from a dealer, they're about $2.50 each, you can find them on the second link I posted above.

Yep, got it. thanks. I may just buy the clips and try to buff out the damage on the part. This thing is 12 years old, and as you can see from the photo, struggling in a lot of areas!

So i just got the part out, and realized i maybe need to buy a new panel after all. All of the connection parts where the rivets attach to the panel are broken off. What in hell did my wife do?!

I have never removed my cladding so I'm not sure what I see in your photo is normal from Toyota, but I'm saying not, it looks like someone removed it in the past and broke the attachment points off and then roughed up the back of the cladding with a Dremel so an adhesive would hopefully stick and epoxied them back on, very sloppy looking not something I would expect from Toyota, that being said if you have all the missing pieces you could possibly put them back on using epoxy as it looks like was done before by someone, but that maybe why the cladding was knocked off this time, as I don't think the epoxy will hold very well, IMHO!!

I was thinking the same thing. Almost looks like Liquid Nails or similar. Definitely not what I would expect from the factory.

Check on car-parts.com. A listing of wrecking yard parts. You can sort various ways. Haggle with them for better pricing. Phil

Sorry, but Im having a really hard time using that car-parts website. Any idea what sort of part this would be? Its not very intuitive.

If I had to guess you may just have to buy a whole door through Car-Part. You could try to reach out and see if they might sell just the trim, but my guess is they'll keep it attached to the rest of the door based on my purchasing parts for other vehicles in the past from vendors on Car-Part.

Best bet is to find a part-out and hope that someone is willing to make a few bucks on the trim rather than not sell the door complete (because the likelihood of selling a door is pretty slim in most part outs).

Your part has been repaired once. The bad thing about trying to buy a 12 year old used part is that the little blue and orange clips that hold the part on don’t always break before the little tab on the cladding does. I have removed most of the cladding on two of my 03. At least one tab broke on each panel. They are a pain to remove.

On the plus side, you can order bags of this orange and blue clips from Amazon for pretty cheap. I needed them for my passenger side rear fender flare.

Blue ones: Bross BCF1224 10 Pieces Rocker Moulding Clip With Sealer for Toyota:75495-35010


Orange ones: Bross BCF1225 10 Pieces Wheel Flare Moulding Clip With Sealer for Toyota:75397-35010 75395-35070

I suggest you verify that these are the correct ones. Toyota uses a few different clips for their mouldings. They're probably the right ones, but I'd just confirm that they didn't use other types.

It was already ripped off and glued back on. Mine look similar from ripping them off on the trail. I just gorilla glue the connectors back on, pop new clips in, and reattach until the next time it rips off. Check eBay. I've had good luck buying trim pieces there for fairly cheap or pick a parts. Galactic Grey Mica? Hard to tell what color from the pics but if it is that's one of the more popular colors. Keep in mind 03-05 is slightly different trim from 06-09.

Yes the clip areas on your piece are broken off and have been re-glued. My statement was that when the body cladding is removed, being that plastic is 12 years old, sometimes the part not the clip breaks. Then you are left with a piece with broken clips areas, just like you have. Like it's been said try re-gluing. It worked for awhile with your truck and you didn't even know it.
