I am a first time 4runner owner. I have like them for years. I have a 02 4runner sport 2wd. I have had this for a week and now the check engine light is on. I had it scanned and it showed code 1201 and 420. 1201 is current and 420 is previous.
The truck does not run any different. I came on while on the highway. I know its a engine malfunction but where do I start to find the problem. The 420 codes showed as bank one. I assume that is o2 sensor. I have researched some on this and have seen replacing both o2 sensors with true toyota parts (likes theres any other good ones) corrects the issue. This just seems to me to open ended to me.
please give me some direction.
