Where do you guys seafoam?

I've been wondering about the smoke exhausted when seafoaming the Runner. I've done it a few times already, but recently the smoke attracted attention, and a person from a distance asked if I was okay. Also, I've seen police patrol the area where I live a few times. So it got me thinking, is it legal to have a smoking car on the streets (how about on your property in front of the garage?) What if someone thought it was fire, and the firemen actually came to only find it's car exhaust?

For the San Diego folks, are there any good open, public areas where I can seafoam without causing any commotion?

I do it in the city, but once I buried a jogger in a cloud of smoke and he he started coughing violently. I felt pretty bad. I don't do it very often though.

Are you doing it in your oil, fuel, or both? I've read another guy here sucked up 1/3 can into his intake, the rest in his oil, then put a second can in his half-full gastank.

I've never tried it, but thinking about it. Is my truck gonna pour out smoke for that entire half-tank of gas (~150 miles)?!...

It should only smoke for 10 minutes or so. The smoke comes from putting it into the intake via a vacuum line.

You pull the line going to the PCV valve. I do it at night so people don't notice the smoke. I've had people get really angry at me by driving past them in the wannabe bat mobile

PCV hose, search google for it. There is lots of good info out there, including videos.

I am seasoned mechanic. I use it in both my toyotas. I run through a vacuum drip (like an I.V.) I use the vac. Line closest to the throttle body. I also run in the oil for about 10 mins before the oil change.
If you use in the vacuum induction it cleans up all of the carbon on the top side of the engine on the valves. It should only smoke for 10 minutes after completion. It will lower your hydra carbons in the exhaust. Its one on the regulated gases for smog.

I vacuum about 2/3 of the can through the intake and 1/3 of it goes in the gasoline tank. IMO, regular oil changes should be good enough to. If you want some serious solvent cleaning, use GUNK motor flush. Otherwise, if you do add seafoam to the oil, it can act as a short term cleaner, and I would make sure to change the oil soon.

So guys, any word about how legal it is to have a smoking exhaust on the street? I believe since Walmart parking lot is a private lot, the police can't interfere unless Walmart reports it. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Just a note: Private property doesn't protect an individual if the act is illegal. Air control is controlled at both the state and federal level.

Also, the "pollution" in an area also has impact on which laws govern a region. Since the product is sold nationally, it would have to be at least federally legal. States or cities may have their own laws.

Radar detectors are illegal where I live, but you can still buy them locally. You just can't use or be in possession of them. Just saying...

It'd be a pretty big **** move if the cop pulls you over and you tell them you have a blown gasket and they give you a ticket.
