Where have all the old yotas gone?

unfortunitly i bought that 4runner with most of the work done by a complete idiot and i have spent all my time/money fixing crap on it. for example when he installed the cd player he just took a saw and cut everything out leaving a gapping whole with jagged edges and just set the cd player in the hole. WTF. i had to clean it up and make a custom mounting bracket and faceplate. that worked out good though because everyone always complaments the faceplate and how cool it looks.
another example is that the 4runner used to be an automatic and he changed it to a standard. i have had alot of problems with that but have just recently gotten them taken care off. this is my first car (im now 18) and i really dont have the money to fix alot of the stuff w/o using junk yard parts and my dads shop whick i can fab up anything with his milling machine, leath (spelling?) and stuff.


in most of those pictures i would guess that i have my 4x4box in the back. it is heavy enough that i cannot pick it up to put it in the back by myself. it has snow chains x4, a high lift jack, tow chain, all the tool i need, and some other crap in it that puts a lot of weight on my backend. plus i am planning on changing my suspinion anyway because i want a pro-comp stage 2 lift.

Well C00per...let me tell ya right now, u dont need alot of money for these trucks...most of the stuff u could probably find off another one in some scrap yard...mind u, i put in over 10 000 bucks in mine lol...and btw, im 21...ive had my truck since i was 17, and even then, it was my fathers since new. He just let it sit there in the driveway and rust...

Now, the funny thing is is that the manual tranny and the automatic ones are the same, u can mix and match lol...doesnt make much difference.

And remember, wider is better...or else u tip.

i total agree with you that 4runners and older model yota's are cheap but like the saying goes time is money. i really dont have the time to do much with my yota. i am a very active student athlete. am a state champion shooter for my jrotc rifle team, placed 3rd in state wrestling this year, ranked #4 in my class and this next year i am going to attend the United States Air Force Academy. not to mention that i am involved in a few clubs/organisations aswell. unfortantily doing all that means i neglect my poor 4runner

but i do know that my junior year at the academy they offer something like a $30,000 loan to buy a car (that is the first year that i will be allowed to drive at the academy) that has really good rates because the money comes from tax payer money hahahahahahaha!

thats when i plan on buying a 2nd generation and fixing it up instead of buying a new car or something.
