I can't believe I'm even writing this thread, but the rear locking mechanism on my 2006 4Runner is shot. It's been rusting badly almost since the day I got it new and now it won't even lock. It appears only to be the mechanism and not the electronics that pull in the door once it almost closed. I say this because when I use a screw drive to close the hook the electronics pull in the hook but I can simply open the hook at will. It won't lock.
My question is, does anyone know where to get the locking assembly? The local dealer wants $250 for just the part. Normally they are south of $100.
