Where to buy the cargo cover?

WTB cover for 1997

Hey guys,

I want to buy one (pref beige but any color is fine). I have a 1997 with a square bracket. I have in Victoria Canada and will pay the shipping.

1996-2000 have squared cargo cover ends.

2001-2002 have rounded ones.

I swapped my cargo panels in from a wrecked 4Runner, as well as brackets, then traded a gray cargo cover with driffter33 for his oak one.

It's always in use when it's possible.

I'm new to this. Does that mean, if my panels don't have mounts on them, I have to find panels with mounts to swap them out if I want to use a cover? I.e., I can't install mounts/brackets into my current panel?

I never use them and probably never will.

famous last words when its dont is I will want one. lol

I am not totally sure of its condition cause when I bought the rig i took it out and put it in the corner.

Unfortunately no, you have to swap in the panels since the mounts are metal and molded into the panel plastic, etc. I was gonna cut them until I saw how it works in there. Junkyard time!

On a positive note, if you have a pre99, you can swap to the panel with the larger cargo compartment.

Where can I get the end caps?

Does anyone know where I can get the end caps to the cover? One of mine broke and I don't need to replace the whole cover (it's still in good shape).

actually, the brackets can be installed on those panels that didn't originally come with the brackets.
If you remove the panels and look at the back, the locations where you need to make the cut-outs are clearly marked on the panels. All you need is a sharp knife to make the cut-outs. Then you can reinstall the panel and then screw in the brackets.

How did you mount the brackets closest to the lift gate? Those usually screw into metal brackets that are part of the other panel. For the brackets behind the seats, did you source the small square inserts for the screws to drive into? Or did you have to rig it up somehow?

i sourced the brackets with screws/yellow plastic inserts from Toyota. After making the cut-outs in the panels and reinstalling them, you can see the holes where to place the yellow plastic inserts. The yellow plastic inserts are where you're gonna install the screws. These procedure applies to all 4 brackets.

I bought a carpet type liner from these guys. It's very nice. I had a hard plastic type but my cargo tended to fly from side to side.
