Sorry, I meant the retractable cargo cover for the rear cargo area. I should have been more specific.

Just getting this back to the top, looking for a 2000 tan retractable cargo cover if anyone has a lead on one for a reasonable price. Dealer wants a small fortune, so do most of the ebay sellers.

1999 Retractable Cargo Cover

I have a gray cargo cover from my 1999 4Runner. It's never been used. Just stored in the closet. Forgot to turn it in when I traded the vehicle in last month. It has the squared end brackets. Make me an offer and it's yours!

Mine is oem and it too can slip out of place and then gets wound back into it's 'case'. Happens if I don't carefully line up the cover over the ends where they clip onto.

Maybe put something like washers or something else to server as a 'spacer' to push the clips holding the cover in place closer together to better hold the cover?

There seems to be variances between vehicles. I grabbed one off CL with square
ends converted to round ends to match 01, was doing what you describe.
On the base that mounts to interior wall I added flat washers between plastic cradle and steel mounting body part till it was correct width to hold cover.
