Where to buy tires? any good prices out there...

I need tires, since I got about 58K miles on the car with originals...

www.discounttire is selling a set of 4 "dunlops at20's for $388,


can anyone beat that online or elsewhere,... I know alot of you have revo's... how much would it be to buy a set of those?

I have Revo's on my 4runner and love them. I live in Colorado and spend a lot of time in the mountains driving in really bad snow, & icy conditions on I-70. I got my Revo's at discount tire and asked a manager to match the price on Tire Rack.com. He matched the price which was very good. I would do your shoping on the web and go to a local shop and have them price match them. It will usually work because they want your buisness.

If you want stock size replacements, go to Costco. They usually have the best prices hands down once you figure in the cost tires, mounting, balancing (lifetime), valve stem, road hazard warranty and possibly shipping.

At my costco the combo of mounting, balancing (lifetime), valve stem and road hazard warranty is $10 per tire.

Some online stores have slightly better prices for the tires alone but once you factor in the above "hidden" costs, Costco is much cheaper.

Only drawback is that they only carry Michelin, BFG, Uniroyal and Bridgestone.

My experience is that if you have tires that are in decent shape, then i would go to Discount Tire (or Costco, etc.) and trade in your old tires for some discounts on the new tires.

If your old tires are totally dead, then i would try TireRack. TireRack usually gives the best internet price on most sizes.
