Where to mount fire extinguisher in 3rd gen?

How many of you have actually needed to use one before? Is it mostly needed for off roading? Or a bad traffic collision? Trying to understand the need for one.

It is a item that should honestly be in the car from the manufacturer. It’s not a question of when, or where. Or when you off road. It can be 5 years down the road. Fact is, it’s something that can save a life, save a car and more. You just never know.

I personally have never needed one yet, but have you ever seen the black spots on the side of the road where a car has burnt up? I don't know what causes them, but it does happen.

On the pass between here and Skagway Alaska there are few such spots. I suspect a poorly maintained leaky car, flogging it up over a mountain pass and Poof! she catches on fire. Just my guess.

I keep meaning to get one put in our cars...

I once had a jeep that caught fire off-roading because of previousowner wireing job. I now keep one in my 4runner under passenger seat. Mainly for other rigs.

Here's where I installed mine. A fire extinguisher is mandatory in the OHV parks in Oregon.

You hope you never need it, but it's there when you do.
