Where to wheel in Denver?

I'm going to be in Denver for the next week and wanted to know if anyone had suggestions for some mild trails. I'd like to get a chance to view some of the beautiful scenery I've seen posted here. I've never been there, so If you have a suggestion please give me some details of what, where, etc. Thanks in advance!

Lots of them around. Here are some links that might be useful. If you end up north of Denver there are some beautiful ones in the Poudre Canyon (kelly flats, 7-mile, pingree park) Those are the ones I am most familiar with. Although with all the fires we have been having allot of them might be closed.

There's lots of good trails everywhere. For mild trails I'd stick to maybe a maximum rating of 5. Most off all the high elevation scenic trails should be open now too. I'd check those out!

Kingston Peak sounds pretty sweet. It's listed as "moderate", doable in a high-clearance stock SUV with good tires and low gears (4LO). It's NW of Idaho Springs, between Alice and Rollinsville. Go west from Denver to Fall River Rd (Exit 238), then north about 8.3 miles to Alice Rd. on the left (look for row of mailboxes). You want to get to Hilltop Rd. on the other side of Alice, then look for signs to Kingston Peak. You'll be well up in the mountains, so the scenery should be pretty spectacular. I can give you more specifics if this sounds interesting.

Guanella Pass isn't really 'wheeling' but if you're here just visiting you're probably not looking to push the limits until something breaks anyhow.

Thanks for the suggestions! I will probably just hit a trail or two for the scenery. Maybe do some light hiking with the fam.

I'd say do Argentine Trail which is off the beginning of Guanella Pass and has great scenery, old mines and is mild. I ran it when my truck was stock w/o any issues. It's one of my favorite close-in trails.
