Which Color?

I'm having a hard time deciding which color to get. My dealer wants a color preference on which TE to try and find. I have seen the black TE and red TE and have decided that I dont want either of them. So its between the Grey, Silver, and Shoreline blue.

Which color would you guys/gals recommend and why?

I went with blue. Silver is ubiquitous these days. I ruled out the black and mag gray because the unpainted plastic will fade over the years and the blue was the only color I felt would be complimented by that fading.

I would second the Shoreline Blue. We just got a Mag Gray Limited and, although its an awesome color, it seems as if there are a lot out there. I thought the red was awesome, but alas only available on the TE (and I havent seen many).

There aren't nearly as many shoreline blues that I've noticed on the board, and there certainly arent many similar colors on the road.

If I were to get a TE, I would probably go with either the Shoreline Blue or the Silver (in that order). The blue gets the nod due to its uniqueness (as Seattle Mike points out). Maybe its a PacNW thing? It is Mariner country!

Actually, my reasoning is a bit different. I like the contrast that the black trim provides with the body color. The fender trim seams to "slim" down the height of the fenders providing a less volumanous look to the vehicle (along with the bumper treatment of the TE). If Toyota had offered a beige leather interior in the TE, I'd be driving one of those vice my SR5.

A shorline blue has yet to see any of my local dealer lots.

mag grey!

but then again, i may be a bit biased...

The contrast of the body color and the fenders/bumpers is what makes the TE so good looking, IMO. I have never been in love with silver, but it looks really good on the TE, so I bought one. The shoreline is also great for the same reasons. Mag grey is nice, but fell off the short list because I didn't want to keep it clean, its hot and the black doesn't stand out enough. Get the color that makes you keep turning around in a parking lot to look at your rig as you walk away.

I would say out of the choices you gave Silver, looks really sharp. However if it was me I would pick the Salas Red. :)

I wanted Magnetic Gray but the interior doesn't come in beige. So on to the second choice Shoreline Blue. This color is growing on me. I'm liking it more and more. Just can wait to get me the deal I'm looking for. So I vote for Shoreline Blue!!

cant go wrong with the shoreline....i love how it changes color slightly with contrast and surroundings....gives it a semi chameleon type thing without that really expensive paint

i'd put silver or salsa red as a second choice.

black is the only color in the world in my eyes, its classy, looks amazing clean, and looks amazing with tinted windows, its badass and clean as hell.

My family garage consists of
2007 Z71 Tahoe- Black
2009 Z71 Tahoe- Black
2009 Range Rover Special Edition- Black
2008 Land Rover LR3- Black
2006 Escalade- Black

and of course my 2010 Black TE

need i continue?...

its a dark looking driveway when full, but classy none the less..

Is it only clean as hell when its clean? If its dirty is it still badass? Is black really a color? Hmmm? Did I forget to turn off the stove?

No, the stove is off, but the oven is on. It looks bad dirty, but thats why I wash my car 2x times a week, which is way more than our other cars, but it is the best looking "color" when clean IMO. I also believe black is defined as "the absence of color, but the presence of cool"-- i read that somewhere, I think it was einstein, or me... i cant remember

WOW thanks for all the replies. Here is what Im thinking.

I do not want to wash my car 2X a week like Hawkdog so no black or mag grey. I spend a lot of time on dirt roads here in CO as this will be my hunting rig! I dont like the way the Salsa Red looks. I dont know why but I saw one last night and it just didnt meet my expectation.

At the moment I am debating between Silver and Shoreline blue in that order only because I have seen a Silver in the SR5. I just need to see a Shoreline in person to make my decision final!

if its gonna get dirty often and wont be receiving frequent washes, DEFINETLY go with silver.

silver hides so well...

dont let the fact that I am super anal be a turn off for black, like I said, out of my fam I wash my car the most, and the rest generally look just fine. If my car were silver id wash it 2x a week too, I just have a membership to a sweeeet car wash joint and they do a really good job so I stop by every 2nd or 3rd day on my way to and from home from biznas.

But besides black, silver looks good, but everyone has silver these days. Shoreline blue is more original, so if you took out black and mag grey, I guess I would go shoreline...

Magnetic Grey
Classic Silver
Black
Shoreline Blue
Salsa Red

And don't worry about the unpainted plastic on the TE fading. There are lots of products available on the market that you can put on the plastic to stop it from fading, Turtle Wax "Wet n' Black" being one of them.
