Looking for a front camera. Not a dash cam, rather something that would be grill mounted or most preferred live in the "T" in the grill on my 2007.

Although I've heard that these cameras don't last very long, they are cheap enough to replace.

How is that camera holding up? How long have you had it? It thinking of getting a more expensive one and ditching my logo camera b/c I don't trust it to last a long time. My rear camera on my DD keeps dying and these I got from AliExpress (cheap).

Installed it August 2015, so about 18 months ago. No issues.
Here's a video of my setup with a rocker switch for front / rear camera anytime. I mounted the front camera so I could see the edge of my front bumper which helps with really tight parallel parking situations:

My approach was pretty straightforward: I put a gopro mount on the top surface of the front bumper, then set it to stream wireless to a tablet in the car.
It's not perfect, but I already had all the stuff, and it required zero wiring.

If you have the camera in the grille then it would be quite difficult to capture scenes as you will have obstruction. Where place higher on car at like eye level you get the whole picture to see.
Either way I use the thinkware x500D front and back.
Many ways to waterproof a camera and then have it hidden from view. Integrated into an emblem of sort.

I got a $30 dash cam off Amazon and it paid for itself in a rear end accident (I was rear ended) where the guy that hit me claimed I cut him off - my dash cam footage proved I did not.
Does the input coming FROM the reverse sensor have enough amperage/power to both signal the nav unit to display the camera input AND drive a relay? If so, is it 6V or 12V and any other relay specs & reverse sensor input specs I should know of?
I want to build a relay solution that only uses one switch. When the switch is closed/engaged, I want the camera input to be on and show the rear camera if the car is in reverse and shows the front camera otherwise. When the switch is open/disengaged I want everything to function normally (rear camera when in reverse). The idea is that I automatically switch between front and rear camera when getting into a tight parking spot.
I think the below diagram does that, but want someone smarter than me to validate

- Dashboard switch connected to a DPDT relay that's used for selecting from two camera sources
- The switch also provides power to the reverse sensor input on the nav unit, so when closed it triggers the input and displays video
- Between the switch and the video selector relay is a NC relay, which is activated (and opened) when the reverse sensor is sending. When open, it breaks the trigger to the DPDT relay and gets the rear camera to display
- The reverse sensor needs to have enough juice to due it's normal job of activating the Nav display AND powering the above relay to break the connection to the source selector relay
