Which Leveling Kit

Ok guys so I have been reading and reading... and reading some more. I am picking up my '11 4Runner Limited this upcoming week (finally in) and the first thing I plan on doing is leveling out the front end. My question is which leveling kit to order:

A.) Readylift 2.25" Steel Strut Extensions
ReadyLift 2.25 in. Steel Strut Extensions 66-5055 - 2010 Toyota 4runner LIMITED - StreetSideAuto

B.) Toyotec 2.0" Lift Spacers (in black anodized)
Front 2" Lift Spacers - Toytec Lifts: Toyota Lift Kits: FJ Cruiser Lift Kits, Tacoma Lift Kits, Tundra Lift Kits, 4 Runner Lift Kits, Sequoia Lift Kits, Toyota Truck Lift Kits

For those of you that installed these, any pro's or con's with each set? The Readylift includes the front differential spacers and also the front skid plate spacers. The Readylift is just over $100 more. Looking for some advice on which kit to order with the goal being to mount some 275/55-20's... Thanks guys! :cheers:

I'm going with the Bilstein 5100 adjustable struts. After doing much research, I believe this is the best way to achieve the front end lift, and eliminating the front end dive. (while braking)

this is nice because there are several lift settings starting from stock, going to .8", and up to 2.5". IMO, 2" front lift gives you a reverse rake, especially if you have any weight in the back.

Ahhh see I didn't realize this was an option. I didn't know you could level the front by only replacing the shocks (not springs or adding actual blocks). Are these Bilstein's compatible with the stock '11 Limited suspension?

Yes, these are the only shocks (that I know of) that have lift settings on them. Otherwise, you go with spacers or new coils (or coil-overs).

However, you said you have the Limited which has the XREAS suspension. So you would have to completely remove this system to replace the front shocks. You could go with spacers or coils. I don't think replacing the coils with (2+" of lift) would be a good idea with the XREAS system. I would go with a small spacer lift instead. I went with 1" Cornfed front spacer on our '03 Sport with XREAS. I later (after over 125k miles) replaced the XREAS system with Bilstein 5100's all around. I still have stock springs all around on our '03. Still drives/rides great. Bilstein's are a bit stiffer over bumps vs the XREAS.
 
Yea I'm not looking to go crazy so it's looking like I should stick with the spacers instead of replacing everything. Again, my goal is not necessarily offroading, but rather simply leveling out the 4runner and hopefully fitting some wider tires on it. So I guess my question remains... which spacer kit is a better decision?
 
I cannot speak about the other leveling kits, but I have not had any problems with the toyotec 2" leveling kit. It cost about 340 with parts to install at the dealer. I do not do any off roading so I was only looking to level the 4 runner and nothing else. If i had to guess there wouldn't be much difference in a leveling kit per if you were looking at lift kits

Thanks for the great feedback! I have a feeling I am going to order the 2" front leveling kit (again though in anodized black so it blends in better). :bigok:

I'm new to T4R and have been waiting for my 2011 TE for a month and a half now:(

I've been reading T4r.org for a while now but didn't realize there was a front lvling issue. Can someone fill me in on what this is and how much it affects the drive & breaking? I know there is more weight from the engine etc.

I did a search but all I could find was lvling kit information.

Anyone have more info on this guys question?

I've got a 2010 Limited and...

I never noticed the front being lower til I read it on here (damn you OCD :D) now it is bothering me.

I want to keep the stock XREAS but have the front confrom to the read. I don't want to raise the rear at all. (Does the 2" toyotec kit raise both by 2"?)

It would be nice to help the nose dive on breaking, too but either way the lean is too much hah.

Sorry for the noob questions if answered elsewhere.
