i observed that amsoil has better flow by design, especially the cylinder that goes in the middle of the filter material, amsoil has more holes and slightly larger than toyota oem.

Is that a nano-fiber filter (EaO) from Amsoil?

That Fram filter, PH3614, is the same filter that was on my '90 Toyota truck with the 3.0 V6, 3VZ-FE. Fram makes crappy filters anyways. I wouldn't using that Fram when there's a bigger (V8) OEM Toyota filter available.

(V8) Toyota OEM - 90915-YZZD3

Uneek & I use this one!!

(V6) Toyota OEM - 90915-YZZD1
&
Fram: Extra Guard - PH3614
...are both the same size.

We both use (V8) Toyota OEM - 90915-YZZD3
...because it's larger, therefore more filtration.

Mobile 1. I was using Toyota, trying to get the valve thing in the filter that keeps it from draining out when turned off, but I think the Mobil 1 works better for that. Either less noise at start up or I'm just not paying attention to it anymore. Plus I don't have to go back to the Stealer to buy filters. That's probably the biggest benefit.

filters

For those of you that use the OEM 90915-YZZD3 filter, there is an OEM filter that is far superior. The 90915-20004 is the filter that comes from the factory on 4Runners, FJ Cruisers and Land Cruisers. There is one dealer in New Mexico that can get you these. American Toyota in Alb. ask for Dan and ask for the Mud discount ie IH8MUD.com you could just go to that site and contact him as well as do an oil filter quality search.

Purolator Pure one or Walmart Super Tech.

Pure one is a better filter but the Wally world Super Tech is a fine filter as well and good up about 5,000 mi.

I would stick with the Toyota filter I think the Denso/Yota filter is a fine filter and I have noticed that my oil stays cleaner longer when I run a Yota filter.

Amsoil lube and filters. My truck has the bypass setup. I change the full flow filter once a year, and after two years and counting, I have yet to change the bypass filter and oil. (using oil analysis every year of course) The 4-runner will get this setup this spring.

I'm getting ready to order a couple cases of the larger Toyota OEM V8 filter 90915-20004.

Have you folks had good experience with them? I saw a few folks mention them here in this thread.

Thanks,
