Not sure if anyone is aware of the The Care Nut channel on Youtube but he is a former Toyota mechanic running his own shop and only works on Toyotas. He is pretty knowledgeable and has a simple way of explaining things which make a lot of sense and very easy to follow. He provides all the relevant information for DIY and shops. He has one video on oil changes that I would like to share specific to the canister filter. Please take a look if oyu like:

TCCN famous here and everywhere for many years for his exceptional knowledge and great personality. But he is not a big fan of modifying Toyota therefore somewhat less important on this site.

Been watching him for a few years now. Always value his input. Same with Scotty Kilmer. But, I have to turn the volume down on him as he gets to yelling quite often and my ears start ringing.

I'm using the MotivX filter wrench thingy and it works fine. I don't see a need to 'upgrade' it. The other little plastic doohickey is pretty useful. I watched this other guy on the YouTubes who didn't use it and he made an absolute mess all over the place. Not my idea of a good time.

Most recent oil change was just a few days ago at 25,393 miles. Zero forbidden glitter or other nasties in the oil.
