I am trying to decide which rear bumper to go with. Is the plate stronger then tube design? I like a few and this one word....."budget" keeps coming in play. Any advice on bumper? I have been running around without one for a while now but it's income tax time and the wife says it needs to get a bumper on soon. I have a lift on it right now and maybe a front bumper later on but right now is tires and rear bumper in the near future!

No significant difference in strength if any between tube or plate. Just get which ever bumper you like. If they are all out of your budget, then you will have to fab your own.

Depends on what you are going to use it for? Are you a hardcore wheeler that needs the clearance and want's a tire carrier? Or do you just want to but solid aftermarket bumper on?
Since you have none on the front now, you don't have to worry about 'matching', and if budget is a concern then it's going to pretty much limit you to a tube style bumper. Savage makes a pretty nice looking well priced tube bumper for under $500 i think.
If budget is not an issue then I'd say go for the CBI, my neighbor just but on a CBI on his 3rd gen and that thing is a great piece of work but it's pricey.
I'd say determine your budget and you will have your answer.

You're not going to find any plate bumpers for under $700 unless you happen to find one used.. Keep in mind you have to pay for shipping and whatever other options added to the bumper. With that said, you're limited to tube or a Hybrid bumper (plate and tube). Like stated above, determine what you want to spend. Maybe take an extra month or 2 and save a little more.
Your only other option is making one yourself or with the help of a friend who will hook you up and has the skills to do it.
