Need to do the brakes and rather buy new rotors and pads. EBay listed two sizes. 297 or 319mm. Other than pull the wheel and measure (stupid metric.) Exactly how can I tell? All say 6 lug tacoma/4runner rotors. Is there a way to decode something or do I just measure them? Thanks

4Runners came with two sizes of rotors, a rotor for the 15" wheels and a rotor for the 16" wheels, the later being larger. Look into the tundra brake upgrade before you or order stock parts though. Just a thought, I've got all the parts for mine sitting here, I just need to find the time to put it on the truck.

It's a bit more work since you are replacing the calipers and if you have the 6 spoke wheels. But you'll find yourself replacing the rotors again before you know it unless you brake like a grandma.

This. The stock ones are too thin and warp very easily after even moderate to heavy braking. Doing the tundra upgrade was one of the best things I have done.
I have the 6 spoke wheels. Does that cause an issue with the tundra upgrade?

Yes, they don't fit. There are three options for us:
1. Run wheel spacers. Sometimes you can get vibrations at higher speeds because of it.
2. Grind the wheels (what I did). This allows the wheels to clear the calipers but it's a fair amount of work. Took me as long to grind the wheels as it did to do the swap.
3. Buy new wheels that fit. If you were planning on doing this anyway it just gives you a reason to do it!
So I guess you just have to weight the pro's and con's and decide if its something you want to do. If you are ok with having the rotors turned until you have to replace then don't worry about the Tundra brakes. Not like replacing rotors is a hard job or anything!
