Which side does AC drain to?

I know the smell of gear oil, I have done my own maintenance for years. The problem is the dirt mixed in it. The feel of it is most definitely oil, and there is no other fluid in that area aside from trans fluid and ps fluid, which is red.

trans fluid is red, PS fluid is clear.
unless ofcourse you're using trans fluid in the PS, then it will be red as you've said.

im just thinking, its worth checking. ive seen a LOT of leaks from above, that look like theyre coming from somewhere else.

I would bet that it's a diff seal.

Brock- unless you plan on taking it to your friend "Mr Dealer", you have 2 options.

1- Keep guessing what's dripping.

2- Take off your skid, spray the area down with Simple Green and get it all shiney clean. Let it dry and look for the source of the leak. That's the only way you are going to be able to tell.

Good Luck!

Im pretty sure the 5th uses atf for ps fluid. I called the owner of my dealer (personal friend) and they just picked it up and left me a loaner. Im 90% sure its the axle seal after cleaning it up this morning.

Just got a call back and it was the axle seal. They are also replacing the propeller shaft while they have it. I get it back thursday and a 2013 Camry to drive until then.

Weird timing. I'm at the beach this week and have (I think) the very same leak. I can't see much due to the BB Skid Plates but it looked Green. Taking it to a local dealer tomorrow.

If it's gear oil with water contamination it will appear yellow or greenish like, well...snot.

Swamp Thing strikes again!

I doubt it as its my first 5+ mile trip since having the front lockers installed so no time to practice my U Boat skills, yet!

Being that it is Philly's truck, it's probably oozing money...:moon:
