Which site you like best?

Not very unbiased poll considering 1) it's on this forum and if voted on over on yotatech and such results would favor those sites and 2)how many members here visit and actually spend a significant time on the other sites to actually judge the sites?

How about a poll voting for which SUV is their fav next? Jeep GC vs 4Runner vs Honda Pilot vs Xterra?

My intent is not to get you started on another one of your pissing matches so don't take this as an attack. With that being said...

1) It's 120 platform specific
2) There are relatively few 4th gen's out there who beat their rigs like we do and can hang with the Toyota120 crowd. Who wants to wheel a 30-40K rig when they can be lathering it with tire gloss in a parking lot?

Now that the 5th gen is out I hypothesize that we will begin to see a larger array 4th gens being modified. As of now, 3rd gens are the popular wheeling choice, and IMO this site tailors to 3rd gens more than any other generation and that is where it gets it's high volumes from.

In addition, since no one knows how to search forums, a new thread is started for every question someone requires assistance with. Reasons such as this make it hard to search for 4Runner via google without this site popping up as a result. Then since information on the topic is scattered through dozens of threads, the information is not easily attained and a new thread is created, adding to the problem. There are thousands of members, but only a few hundred who are actually active on a regular basis.

I do prefer this site a little bit over the others since it's a little more light hearted and this site centers more on 4Runners than the others but there's great people on all the forums.

I like Toyota120.

Smaller community that knows each other well, I have wheeled and camped with lots of them many times and they are always fun to spend time with. Also, they are EXTREMELY knowledgeable about the 120 platform. All and all, they are great guys.

I also like that people seem to use the search feature over there a little better, there are fewer duplicate threads started and the mods do a great job of keeping everything very well organized.

t4r.org has its spot, but is generally not aimed at what I am looking to do. Also, seems to be quite a few guys with attitudes and many members who are extremely opinionated, close minded and misinformed. I can not count the number of times I want to correct or attempt to educate people here, but decided it is ultimately not worth my time since I already know my efforts will be overlooked and it will just further or create arguments. Have to pick and choose your battles :redbrick::lmao:

Agreed, yotatech is kinda hard to navigate. Search on both sites are a PITA in my opinion, so I muddle through.

I mostly spend time here, so I feel "comfortible" with the people and I can navigate best just from usage.

I'm a split between toyota120 and here. The biggest difference between the two (other than the obvious direction of the rig that it caters to), is how the mods there keep threads informative.

Over there if you search for something the threads are full of good information that you don't have to sift through to get to. Here, a thread can go off topic for pages without any pertinent info. There is just alot of fluff.

I still come here more, but I do majority of my searches there, haha.

To each his own, obviously, and both sites have some very useful areas, but in my opinion toyota120 is truer to the 4runner's design, capability and intended use. I mean, I don't care what a person wants to do with their own ride, really I don't, but body on frame construction and solid rear axles are just too much potential to lower and mount 20" chrome to. But that's just me, and I'm not saying that's all anyone does around here. The guys at 120 are just more focused on utility, and I've always liked function before form. If it happens to end up looking good too that's fine, but if I'm doing it "just for looks", I feel like a chump, and kind of a poser.
