Which Sylvania SilverStar?

Couldn't find this anywhere by searching:

There are 2 Sylvania SilverStar headlight bulbs.. just wondering if anyone has experience with either, or which one is best.

1. Sylvania SilverStar ULTRA TWIN Halogen Headlight - $43

2. Sylvania Headlight Silverstar ZXE - $48

Both are 9003 and say they fit a 3rd gen

I have a 2001 and my buddy does too. He got the Silverstar Ultra Twins and I got these:

Philips Xtreme Vision

We compared them side by side at night and the Philips are brighter and a "whiter" white but not bluish at all. We both like the Philips bulbs better.

The 9003 (HB2/H4) is definitely the right size and will fit.

Just remember these high output bulbs do NOT last as long as regular bulbs. They will probably last about 2 years and it basically says so right on the package. If they last longer consider it gravy.

I use the sylvania xtravision. 18 bucks and works great imo

I put the Philips Vision Plus in my Runner and wife's Tacoma. They lasted almost exactly 2 years...both pairs burned out within the same 2 week period.

They were great when it was dry but sucked in rainy wet conditions.

My dad also bought the Vision Plus for my 4runner. I do not see much improvement over the stock headlights. Also my first set dipped in brightness after 3 months. My dad got a free 2nd set. He told me they are lifetime warranty? Can anyone also confirm that can I use high beam without minimizing the lifespan significantly on that Vision Plus? My dad keeps telling me not to use it even though I only use it sometimes.

I do have the silver star zxe, I have no word on the lasting life on them because I've only had them for a couple of months now. But I can say their distance and brightness is a huge step from the stock bulbs. Almost a white looking xenon aswell. I'm satisfied.

That's a little too short. You didn't use your bare fingers to put them in did you? Skin oil on the bulb will make them go quick.

Nope. Been around cars long enough to know not to touch the bulb when installing.

My experience as well with one pair (5 months and 7 months more or less). Never buying a second. (No, I didn't touch the glass.) I get years and years on my cheapo NAPA Sylvania's.
