Which taillight wire is responsible for the running lights?:

Relocated my license plate light. Need to splice into the running light wire. Anyone know which one it is?

The plug going into the taillight has 5 wires. Then itbreaks off into 3. I would like to splice before it breaks into three as there is more room.

Alright I Figured it out. When you open the right side kick panel there are a group of wires going into a small black plug. The small black plug then plugs into your taillight. Cut back the black insulating material around the the group of wires (there should be 5)

Yellow/Blue
White/Black
Green/Yellow
Green/silver dots
Red/Yellow

The running light wire is the Red/Yellow one. When spliced into this will turn your license plate light on when the running lights come on. Exactly how it does from the factory.

The 2 solid blue wires are the wires that power the Reverse Light and license plate light. As you can see in the picture One is pliced into the Red/Yellow Wire and the Other is Spliced into the Green Wire.

I also purchased a Reverse light as well. Its a small 4 inch 55w light mounted on my CBI bumper. To make the reverse light come on when in "reverse" splice into the Green wire with the small silver dots on it. When done correctly you will have a back up light that only comes on when you are reversing.

you mean parking light? most of the time its green for parking light, from what i have owned 96 and my current 07, its green. also i think the red/yellow is the reverse. let me find out my post when i did hid in them.
