I would like to know if this is normal or if I need to get my 4WD checked.
I read in another thread that if it's in 4WD-HI, I can stay on it forever whether paved or if it's snowing.
Question is, when I'm in 4HI and it's already been fully engaged (4 green lights, not blinking), I will come to a stoplight and sometimes it takes like 5 secs before I can accelerate or get moving when I press on the pedal.
This happened to me a couple times now when trying to just go straight, sometimes when pulling out/turning. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS because I almost died when trying to pull out of a lot to get into the main road simply because my car would not move when I needed to. (Happened in multiple situations: dry pavement so there should be no slip, light rain, heavy snow)
I do not have the center diff locked (VSC off) because it's not fully snowing yet and the pavement is still dry. I read in another thread that you should only turn off VSC when you're not on dry pavement. I haven't tested turning VSC off in heavy snow yet to see if the same behavior will occur but this definitely shouldn't happen if I'm in just dry pavement correct?
