White exhaust after start

Greetings,

I have noticed over the past week that for a little bit after I start my runner, I get some white exhaust. It's never a huge cloud, but it is noticeable. I haven't been able to examine it too closely to determine if it is steam or smoke because it only occurs when I am accelerating. It can last a minute or two, but once the engine has warmed up it stops. It has been around freezing where I live, so I don't know if that has an effect on it.

I tried doing some research, but nothing I saw really described what I am seeing.

Any ideas? Thanks!!!

Sounds like normal condensation/steam/moisture which happens with a cold start.

I wouldn't worry.

If you are seriously concerned check your coolant level if it is low then it could be coolant but again i'm sure it's just condensation/steam/moisture.

Thank you. I know the coolant level is fine. I have checked that. I guess I should also add, it only happens after it has time to cool down.

Is it using oil?

White smoke on start up could be bad valve guides/seals too...

Yup, steam comes out of the exhaust when it's cold out. Look at other cars driving by, they are probably doing the same thing. Mine puts out a lot of steam when it's really cold out. Completely normal.
