white noise on my pioneer

I have the pioneer DEH-7600MP, same as snookster...

It is hooked up to the factory speakers, factory everything...and I have an aux cable for my ipod...

At all times, there is a "white noise" a noise that sounds like a fuzzy channel on the TV...anyone know what causes this?

My volume also goes from 0-50, and at 10-15 is where I have to keep it, at 15 its LOUD...I think that's not normal

PLEASE HELP! it works fine but these things bother me...

make sure your SLA setting is at 0
and also, make sure the unit is grounded well.

Is it making the noise on fm only? Or on CD as well?

It's grounded well as far as I can tell, but I'm kinda stupid with car audio...wat is SLA?

oh, by the way, it ALWAYS does it, even when the volume is all the way down, its there...

Make sure the RCA plugs at both ends between the amp and the last stage are pushed in all the way. It could also be a broken RCA cable.

there is no amp, its just hooked up to the original wire harness...

I had the same problem on my 2001

I hooked up the AUX output to my original stereo and the oem speakers. Anytime I was listening to Sirius, I heard that noise. I went to Radio Shack and bought a filter for $17. It connects between the radio and the AUX output and hte noise is gone.

well its not just when im listening to my ipod, its all the time...if i have it on radio, cd, OR aux, its there...also i forgot to mention when I turn off the head unit, it pops pretty loud...

I GOT IT! heres what I did...

As some of you may know, a 99 4runner has a stock amp in it right below/behind the stereo...

apparently this amp creates an issue with my pioneer head unit, and theres a loud white noise all the time, and the highest i can play music is like 20 out of like 60

I took this out and bypassed it, rewired my harness, and now that white noise is gone...

AND IM STOKED!

now the sound levels are up at 35-45 out of like 60?

and it still sounds just fine!
