Whitson Metalworks Racks

Hey guys been a while since ive been on here. I finally saved enough money to get a whitson metalworks cargo rack and saw his site is down. anyone have any info on whats going on and if he is still welding these gorgeous racks?

Do a google search and Im sure you'll find out pretty quickly whats going on. There was a thread on here regarding what's going on, but its not accessible anymore.
 
I'll be working with someone after Labor Day weekend on this. The design still needs to be put into SolidWorks before I can send it to the cutter. I still need to track down some boxes for shipping, and random supplies. I'm also considering having some die cut stickers made since everybody seems to like stickers.

This project should have been done by now. Unfortunately things have come up, and this had to take the backseat for a bit.

I'll send my really hot cousin over to give you a lap dance if you can custom fab some removable steps like N-Fab has to work with Shrockworks sliders so my wife can finally shut up.
 
Wow that sucks and i had no idea. I didnt even know about the gobi racks. Its a shame because Whitson offered a VERY affordable rack in comparison. Well i look forward to seeing what you come up with MStudt. I hope to get a very low profile full length rack at some point this year. Take care
 
I'm thinking Whitson should do a weld by number thing. Instead of selling a fully assembled rack, just cut, bend, and mark every piece and ship out a weld your own rack kit. This way gobi can't go after him:reddance:

I saw that they locked it, now they've disappeared it completely? That's a giant pile of bullshit is what that is.
 
It's a shame :( just like last year he was offering roof racks. Very happy that i actually got to buy one. Great rack. Amazing quality.
 
Sorry about the website guys. The emails that say your site is about to get turned off go to an old email I don't check. I gave them some more money so it should turn back on soon, for whatever that's worth.

Still not sure what's going to come of this whole ordeal but reading on the jacked up patent system and how the courts have become a weapon in a sleezy game has me pretty bummed out.

Lawsuit against WM from Gobi for "supposed" patent infringement and copying of design. Its as stupid as Goodyear suing Nitto for having round tires. Anyway, the thread was locked so no need to discuss anymore.
 
Dude, are you serious ? Like get a life. !!!!! Full support for WM, someone should make a petition where we as members support WM and his roof racks.

I'm not worried about it. I've already talked to a patient lawyer, and they'll have the firm design in hand in a our 2 weeks.
